The Winchester Public Schools today announced that all buildings will be closed on Friday, January 7 in anticipation of a snow storm hitting the region. This comes on the heels of what has been a challenging week for school districts across the country, as many have faced staffing shortages with teachers and students testing positive for Covid-19 upon their return from Winter break. The CDC recently updated their guidelines to include shortened isolation and quarantine times for those that have been exposed or tested positive for the virus.

Currently, there have not been any snow days in Winchester this school year. The anticipated last day of school would now be Thursday, June 16th.

Snow is expected to begin early Friday morning in the area, and carry through until late afternoon. Meteorologists anticipate 6 to 8 inches of snow in the region.
